Jill's Journal: We have no idea where we’re going on Saturday when our time here is up! Absolutely no clue. We have reservations on Assateague Island on the coast of Maryland in a week – these are the reservations we had to make a year ago to get a spot – but it’s a long way from Cave City, Kentucky, to Assateague Island, Maryland. Over 800 miles, to be exact. Our plan wasn’t to drive a long distance at any point during this trip, but it seems we’ll have to make an exception.
I think we’ll need to pull out a map in the next couple of days and pick a town/city/area for next week. The only certainty is that it will be somewhere between here and the coast of Maryland. We’re leaning toward doing one long drive this weekend, in the range of 600 miles, so that we can be a lot closer to Assateague and our original plans of not driving more than 100-200 miles each weekend when we move. It’s kind of fun to think about where we might end up!

Reading up on your fabulous adventures and have to comment on this one! We used to spend our summers in Chincoteague. I have so many fond memories of crabbing, eating saltwater taffy and wild horses! Do the girls know about Misty of Chincoteague? http://www.mistyofchincoteague.org/misty.html
Oh Julie, that's so great to hear! Do you have any tips for us? I'm all ears! I've been wanting to go there since I was about 7 and first read the Misty books. We'll actually be in Chincoteague for the pony swim -- I'm so excited! I'm reading the Misty book to the girls right now. :)
