Toy Hauler?

So, now - maybe a toy hauler? With the garage area we could tun it into whatever we wanted. The triple-bunk thing probably wouldn't be hard to do - it would be 'empty' space to use as a playroom, and we could use the tailgate as a kind of porch.

In fact - putting a deck on that ramp, putting supports on the outside wouldn't be that tough. We could leave it closed when the weather was bad and open it up during the day when its good. I could see putting some simple kind of aluminum railing in place that automatically opened. Damn, new ideas.
We'd still need to go with a tow vehicle, though they do make motohomes with that type of floorplan. That kind of open floorplan might be just the kind of playroom we need.

Hi guys,
Deciding which type of RV is right for your needs can be a challenge. Especially because there is no such thing as the 'perfect' RV. Each type of RV, motorhome, travel trailer or 5th wheel has it's advantages and disadvantages. Whatever RV you finally choose will be a compromise.

If you're looking at a towable in the forty foot range I believe you would be better of with a 5th wheel for ease of towing.
I like the idea of converting a toy hauler into a bunkhouse for the kids. Fran and I bought a bunkhouse model and remodeled it to suit us but having a clean slate to start with allows more options. However, it may be difficult to build in a separate bathroom so keep that in mind.

As for new over used: I like buying slightly used. The previous owner took the biggest depreciation hit and also worked out all the warranty and other issues already.

But bunkhouse models are hard to find on the used market and even when you do find them it a gamble if it will be something you want. That's why we bought ours new. But consider buy some used and low-cost to start out with. Only after living in an RV for a while will you truly know what will work for you. Then you with the money saved buying the fist rig used, you'll be able to buy 'the right' one. Only food for thought.

Just keep looking at lots of RVs of all types and floor plans. After a while you'll begin to get a good idea of what you really need.

Full time RVing is a great lifestyle... Good luck!
