Jill's Journal: North of Grants Pass is the lovely Grave Creek Covered Bridge, so named because the first emigrant wagon train from Idaho to this area camped here in 1846. A 16-year-old girl died of typhoid fever during the encampment and her fellow travelers buried her here before moving on. The name Grave Creek has stuck ever since.
We finally found the caveman! The 17-foot tall statue stands on a rock pedestal and apparently represents an unusual boosters club of sorts that dates back to 1922.
A painted bear…
…and a sweet girl enjoying the sunshine.

Always love to see a child with a book. Ours are avid readers as well.
