Just for Fun: 50 Spots

Jill's Journal: Just for fun, when we left on our RV journey 14 1/2 months ago, I began keeping a log of each spot we spent the night in while living in our fifth wheel. To our amazement, we’ve already reached 50 different places! That seems like a big number.

Here’s the breakdown:

38 campgrounds
7 parking lots
5 private backyards/acreages
and
22 states

Twenty-two states is the part that surprised us, as we’ve spent so much time in Oregon and California. But, we traveled at a feverish pace for our first six months as we raced to make our way up the Eastern Seaboard and through New England before last winter. We’ve definitely slowed down and learned to smell the roses a little bit more.

Out of those 22 states, there’s only four that we feel “done” with, or satisfied that we saw all of the really important stuff: Oregon (after this week), Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Delaware. Many others (including our “home” state of Kentucky), we spent time in but didn’t get to “finish.” And, if we ever have nothing else to do, we could definitely spend more time in those four finished states because one never gets to truly see everything.

I think that says we’ll be on the road for a long time to come. Yay!
