Jill's Journal: Our kids aren’t particularly tech-savvy, which is pretty humorous considering Rob’s tech job. We’ve purposely kept them off the Internet and away from video games. We don’t have anything against those things, but we figure there’s plenty of time for that later. Right now we just want them to be kids.
However, there is one thing they know how to do and that’s scroll through our little blog! Anytime they find Rob’s computer unattended, they quickly ask if they can “look at the blog.” Little Victoria enjoys it most of all and is quite the prolific “scroller” (that is SO not a word, but some things just need a made-up word). They have no interest in reading it, but they absolutely love to look at the pictures. It almost serves as a photo album of sorts for them and it’s so fun to hear them reminiscing about the first 14 months of our journey.
“Ooooh, look at that!”
“I remember that!”
“That place was so much fun!”
And that’s why I have to add another pool picture, since I think they’re going to have great memories of their swimming lessons. Here they are today waiting for their respective classes to begin. They have absolutely loved this pool. It will be a sad day tomorrow when their last class ends.
Here’s one last, random picture to make them laugh. I never know what I may find in my freshly-washed dishes as they’re innocently drying on the counter.

Wine glasses make very nice garages. I love seeing the girls pictures too. Are they swimming well enough to get themselves out of the deep end and jump off the diving board? I am hoping that answer is yes because then they will really enjoy the pools.

Liz has been struggling with math for awhile now and I was FINALLY able to find a tutor for her and she started yesterday. When I picked her up, her tutor told me to download this game called Math Bingo (it's an App as well as a computer game) and she loves it. She told me to have her play it for a little bit each night and watche her math skills grow. She put her son on it at the beginning of the summer (same age as our girls) starting with addition. He's now multiplying!
I'm hoping it will help.
Love that you said that about the computer! We think/do the same! People are always fascinated when we go to their house to play and they could care less finding more creativity in other things...cool! we don't photo albums but a family memory book with ONLY favorites in it, so not many and I fill in with ticket stubs, quotes stories...they love it! :-)
Love that the dishes are wine glasses. (=
Andee--they're all in various stages of swimming and doing super! Very exciting.
Gretchen--Math Bingo? I'm going to have to check it out! Erika grasps math concepts immediately so I think she could be really good at math, but she doesn't want to be. Flash cards are a battle around here and she's passed that attitude on to her sisters before they've even started math. Grrrr. Math Bingo just may be my new BFF! :)
Andrea--apparently we have a lot in common! Love your family memory book idea. That will be even more special to them as they age.
Dragon--ha ha! But of course... :)
We have a game called equate which is, for lack of a better explanation, math scrabble. You have to come up with math expressions rather than words. The kids seem to enjoy it.
Who knew there were so many math games? Thanks! I will check into this one too.
