Jill's Journal: Our original plan was to be in Pendleton just three or four days. Instead, it will be nearly two weeks. We really like Pendleton, but the real reason we’ve stayed is swimming lessons. Victoria, above with her teacher, is especially loving this daily time.
All summer long, I’ve been trying to find lessons for the girls, but they usually last four weeks and are only twice a week. It just hasn’t worked out for us when we try and move every week. In Pendleton, of all places, there’s a wonderful Aquatic Center with a fantastic kids’ play pool, lap pool, diving pool, etc. But the best part? They do private lessons at a very reasonable cost, with 45-minute sessions four days in a row.
We quickly decided to stay for a week and signed up all three girls. And then, because my Dad recommended it and I always listen to my Dad, we signed up for a second week’s session. (Well, that, and because we were so pleased with our first days of lessons.) The girls are having a ball and learning a ton. And Rob and I get 45 minutes of quiet time together in the midst of dozens of noisy children each day. It’s amazing how peaceful that can be when you don’t have to worry about a single one of them!

Love it! Detta did 2-2wk sessions of a group, but we are going to do private when I get back as she is so close and think the private she will learn better and faster! YAY Victoria!!
