Santa Claus in August

Jill's Journal: Another Oregon find! This is a Santa Claus Melon. It was oblong and about a foot long, almost shaped like a football. I had no idea what we’d find inside, but I just scooped out the seeds like a cantaloupe before slicing it up. It actually tasted like a honeydew, only sweeter.
