Jill's Journal: Most people who homeschool seem to have strong opinions about it and great resolve about why it’s the best choice for them. Not us – we jumped into it lightly, knowing it was the only way this trip could be possible. I never thought I’d be a homeschooling Mom. But oh, how it’s growing on me. It’s truly a family affair and a lifestyle that leads to close sibling relationships and family bonding.
I’m starting to realize what a treasure moments like these are, when an older sister reads to her younger sisters…and we’re blessed to have them every single day. Here’s another example: yesterday, 5-year-old Madelyn officially started reading herself. When Erika started to read, her kindergarten teacher called to tell me the exciting news, but with Madelyn, we got to be witness to it ourselves and share the joy of the moment together. What a gift that is.

Awesome! I am really nervous about it, but know it's the best for our kids....trying to breathe through it all and not get too hyper.
Andrea, I didn't know you were going to homeschool! Are you going with any specific curriculum or putting it all together yourself? Either way, you'll be a natural. I think you'll love it. We're finding it to really be a blessing.
Congrats Madelyn!!!
