Jill's Journal: It may be off-season right now, but that didn’t derail us from checking out Portland Meadows, Oregon’s biggest and top racetrack. In business since 1946 and hosting live racing from October through March, Portland Meadows might have given us our best clue yet as to what winter weather is like in these parts.
Between the fully glass-enclosed grandstand…
…and the indoor saddling shed and paddock, I think this place says, “It rains in the Pacific Northwest A LOT.”
