Jill's Journal: After being on the road so long, it feels strange to be in one spot for two weeks with no sightseeing going on. We'll be on the move again soon, but in the meantime, the girls certainly are enjoying their grandparents and the memories they’re making are just as important as all the other stuff we see. Besides, when else would they get a chance to make Christmas cookies with Beppy?
I actually got quite a kick out of watching the whole cookie-decorating process from a distance…three kids in the kitchen may have been a little more chaotic than my Mom was expecting. I think my girls “made a memory,” but I know my Mom did!

Small Triumphs!
Jill's Journal: I’m pleased to share that I just lit the oven all by myself. This has been the source of major frustration for me (what do you mean I need a match to light it every time while simultaneously pushing a button for 15 seconds in a location that requires a Twister-like maneuver?). I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to master the darn thing, but at least I managed it once. The smell of blueberry muffins is now wafting delectably through the RV. Praise God for small triumphs!

Spice Solution

Jill's Journal: We’re obviously tight on space in the fifth wheel and I’ve been searching for a solution for the everyday spices used in cooking. I’ve had visions of 30-40 little spice bottles floating around in a cupboard and falling out every time I opened it. Imagine my excitement when I found this! It’s called a tubular spice rack and fits 40 spices, all contained in less than one square foot of space. The test tubes are supposedly big enough to each hold more than one standard bottle of spices. UPS will deliver mine any day now. I can’t wait to try it out!
