Yes, every inch of real estate counts in San Francisco, apparently even in campgrounds. We’ve never been in quarters quite this close before. This is Rob swinging backwards into our spot. Proud wife alert: he nailed it in on the first try! A crowd had gathered to watch and they quickly dispersed, by all accounts disappointed at how smoothly it went.
Slides out…hi neighbor. Let us know if you ever need a cup of sugar; we’ll just hand it to you through the window.
And hello, other neighbor. If we trip going down our steps, it’s reassuring to know we’ll simply fall into your home.
But wait! There are benefits to San Francisco. We are literally on the ocean. See? Oh wait, you can’t see it through the fog. But the crashing waves do sound nice.
Here’s another shot of our "backyard." It’s gray and dreary-looking (because it’s San Francisco!), but we seriously are on a 60-foot cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Can’t beat that.

I've always loved the Mark Twain attributed quote "The coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco." He never did say it, but who ever did had San Francisco weather nailed.
Hey, your in San Francisco, enjoy it, ride the cable cars, go to the exploratorium, Ghiradeli sq. See Stanford, fisherman's wharf, the zoo, the theater district, China town, Japan town, Take the car down Lombard st. I know Bobby, we have taken every car this family has owned down Lombard but I don't think that street is a good fit for the truck. Have a ball in my favorite city of all.
Mom, W
Oh man!!!! The girls and I were in SF this weekend!!!!! Could have met up with you at Fisherman's Wharf or something. I am kicking myself for the missed opportunity :(
Julie, you are kidding me!! A missed opportunity indeed -- that would have been a BALL!! Major bummer. :(
